What does the Irishman get after eating Italian food???
Gaelic Breath!!!
Ahh... food jokes are the best. Anyway welcome back to my blog, Awesomeness Inbound. I have gotten some exciting news since my last blog went up and I was excited to share with the Internet!!! Because that's just the world we live in now a days. But just to keep you all in suspense and build interest I will save that news for a bit later in the blog.
From the title of this blog it has got me craving something that many people like me and around me are craving too. It's that time of year again for me and my fellow Canadians.... ROLL UP THE RIM is back at Tim Hortons!!! Living somewhere other than Canada and reading this you probably think this is very stereotypical for a Canadian, but it's weird how excited I get for this time of year... even though I'm 0/4 already. Some of us don't get as excited as others but for me.... I defiantly have too much unhealthy excitement aboot it.
I can't believe it is already March. Seems like last week we were just celebrating New Years, this year is going by too fast. Before you know it Spring will be here (For Canadians that's usally when Roll Up The Rim ends) and we will be waiting on the Easter bunny to come fatten us up before Summer and beach season.
Another sign in my house that we are in the final stretch of winter is that the Daytona 500 has come and gone. Congratulations to Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the victory and to Rick Hendrick on his 2nd win of the race in as many years. May be a little early for foreshadowing but look what happened to the Daytona 500 Champ last year, he ended up winning the Championship.... Just saying....
Ok, I have run out of things to stall on so it's time to make the news offical on the Internet. As of my last blog I had applied too the 5 best college programs that I saw for Culinary, since then I received an acceptance package for every program and every college I applied too. Guess I'm just so in demand when it comes to that stuff. Haha.
For weeks I was putting of making the choice for fear of choosing the wrong one. The more research I did on the programs and colleges the more unsure I got. The other day I finally made the leap and committed myself too one. As of September 2014 I will be a Fanshawe Falcon. I decided on the 2 year Culinary Management: Apprentice Program there. There were a few reasons for my choice such as the classes in each program and the location of the college and the ratio of theory v.s practical courses but I think the main reason I choose Fanshawe as opposed too Humber or Conestoga is that it is closer to home. Easier to bug family members for food and money that way.
Well that brings us to the end of yet another blog. If you enjoyed comments are always welcome on what else you would like me to write about and such. You are more than encouraged to share on Facebook or Twitter too and until next time...KidAndTheBlog...OUT!!!!

Sochi 2014 and Life
Hey guys I just herd something about the 2014 winter olympic games in Sochi russia and and i thought hey, I haven't wrote a blog in a while so I thought I could share the news with you guys.
But before that I might as well do a life update thing because I know from twitter you guys think my life is interesting, I personally think you just need to get out more but here it is anyway. As you know if you've read my other blogs that I am a young culinary enthusiast and have hopes of going to college next year to learn more about it, when that time roles around I might have more interesting stuff to blog about. But since my last blog I have made the commitment and paid the $95 fee and applied to 3 collages and 5 different programs. 2 at Humber, 2 at Fanshawe and 1 at Conestoga. Although getting me really excited by sending me emails... none of them have given me an early acceptation. Guess I'll just have to wait.
Anyway on too Sochi. As most if not all of you know the winter Olympics this year are being held in Sochi, Russia. And the past month or two they have been extremely worried about terrorists and bombings that have threatened the games and would obliviously make Russia look like a bad host. Especially with the twin suicide bombings about a month ago.
But what is also making Sochi and Russia look bad to some people is something I read on Facebook today (I will post the links below) Russia has captured 2 Orca whales from the wild and are flying them into Sochi for the games. Animal rights have been going cray with story and some Canadians are saying we should boycott the olympics all together
gloucesterconcordes.ca
I personally think that is a bit too far to boycott the whole Olympics. But I'll let you read for yourself. Some of the links go into Russia's anti gay laws too.

Well thank you for reading yet another blog. I could say ill be posting more often but I can't make any promises right now. It's exam week and I probably sholud be studying right now... whoops.... anyway until next time... KidAndTheBlog.... OUT!!

Hapy Holiday from KidAndTheBlog
Oh the weather outside is frightful, but my hot chocolate is so delightful....... Well at least where I live it's damn cold. Freezing rain and blizzards, sure would be nice to be in Florida right now. But alas, I'm stuck here and have finally worked up the energy to write a blog. So here is whats been going on in the life of me.
If you have read any of my other posts then you know I'm 17, live in canada, and hope to go to college next year for culinary arts and cooking. as to what college, that is still up in the air. I have narrowed down my choices and just getting ready to apply, it all depends on where I get accepted and if I have the guts to move there.
If you celebrate Christmas, I wish you the merriest one possibly, if you don't..... happy holidays and stuff. This 2 week break from school I will be spending 10% with family, 10% on the intrnet writing blogs and things like that, 15% playing video games, 25% sleeping, and 40% watching Breaking bad because, I'm a little addicted. Just finished the 3rd season and will most likely finish the final 2 before the new year. SHUT UP I KNOW I DON'T HAVE A LIFE!!! haha
As the Christmas season comes into my house it brings another thing with it, and this thing likes to show every now and then to steal our food and force me too... get this... SHARE my copy of GTA V!!!! As you may have guessed this "thing" is my brother, he came home last week and even with the set backs, its still pretty nice to see him I guess. Welcome home bro.
In the last 2-3 weeks I have began to lisrten to a band that I haven't listened to in a while. Their song thunderstruck has been stuck in my head for at least a week now but hey I'm not complaining. Can never go wrong with some ACDC. Need a refresher??? Click here...... or here....... or here :) or all of them, again and again and again.
So what else can I ramble about. i cantthink of anything right now so that will just about wrap up this blog post. (wrap up, see what I did there. Because it's Christmas time) Hope Santa is good to you and have a safe and happy holidays.
Sorry Mrs.Clause.......

6 things to look out for in the changeing seasons
Going to switch up my blog style from stuff about cooking and my life and do kind of a fun one. It seems like summer just ended and now fall and winter are upon us. So here are some things to look out for with the changing weather.
This could go under the stampede section too because IT'S BACK!! The angry whopper is back at a Burger King near you, even if your in Japan!!! They're one of my favorites, try one today.
1. Dog Poop Under Snow And Foliage
You know it's out there, just where is it hiding?? Watch your step!!!
2. Holiday Store Set Ups
As we have seen in the 2003 movie Elf, staring Will Ferrell... some people and some stores can go over board on their Christmas and Holiday set ups. Try not to be the guy that falls into the tree knocking it over and having to buy all the things you broke. Nevermind paying the kid the tree landed on's medical bills for his broken arm.
3. Kids And Their Shenanigans
annikalangvad.ak
Oh you know how kids can get with there snowballs and immaturity. So glad I stopped that... last week.... hey throwing snowballs are fun you just gotta watch out and make sure you dont catch one in the back of the head.
4. It's Getting A Bit Nippy Outside
eloquentscience.com
As the season change, there is always a change in temperature as well. Unfortunately, this time it is a decrease so it's time to start up your heater, load up on fire wood, drag out those big comfy blankets and keep warm.
5. Look Out For The Stampedes
Maybe not like the stampedes in The Lion King... and even though it is still November people are going crazy trying to get all their Christmas shopping done. The lines at stores are getting longer and before you know it we will have full out brawls in the toy section between 2 slightly overweight moms battling for the last G.I Joe action figure.
And if you are like some members of my family there might be a large rush for the last carton of egg nog too.
6. The Angry Whopper

R.I.P Blog Scheduling and College Road Trips
So since I am horrible at coming up with things to blog about, putting Awesomeness Inbound on a schedule was probably the worst thing I could have done. So now I have scrapped that whole idea and will post whenever I have something I think other people will enjoy. Could end up being once a month or 5 times a month who knows.
Well since my last blog a few weeks ago, I haven't actually done anything that note worthy. Well I did go to another college visit and loved it. I think it is better than George Brown. Me and my cousin are both looking at Humber college and both our programs are on the North campus. So in interest in saving our parents some gas money we decided to carpool together to the open house on November 9th. After we got there she wanted to go check out the nursing program and I wanted to go check out the culinary program and the cooking labs, so we split up and went our separate ways.
We just barely got into the 10:15 presentation that talked about the program and compared it to other colleges such as Gerorge Brown and I found it a lot more impressive. Also, one of the great parts about looking at culinary colleges, you always get fed!! After the presentation some of the chef's took us on a tour of the cooking labs and we got fed an appetizer, entree' and dessert!! Of course they were just small sample sizes but who could say no to rolled eggplant, butter chicken with curry sauce and bread pudding at 10:30 in the morning, am I right???
After we were fed and we toured the kitchen, we decidd to take a tour of the campus as a whole. Which there was nothing really to see other than get a better idea of the campus size and see the gyms and pool and workouts areas. All that great stuff. By that time it was about 12:30 and we had no idea where the rest of our crew was. The open house was scheduled to end at 2 so we had some time to kill.
We decided to go check out the on campus residence and take a tour there. The girl explained the rules they have like noise level and over night guests. She showed us the two different style of dorm's they had and after we talked prices for a bit the tour was over in about 15 minutes. After stopping by booths ad grabbing some free stuff ,we had seen all we wanted to see so we met up with the others and started the long drive back home, after getting something to eat at subway first.
So ya, that's my story. I would like to do another recipe blog and I have an idea for one so that will be up... whenever.... haha no more schedules. If you enjoyed share it with your friends on facebook or twitter, blah blah blah, leave a comment, blah blah blah.... Until next time, KidAndTheBlog is OUT!!!

I took pictures at Geroge Brown for my blog, but didn't end up using them because I didn't really see a point. I wish I took a couple of pictures at Humber because they would have been more interesting. Oh well I can just take them off the internet and cbc.caAfter we were fed and we toured the kitchen, we decidd to take a tour of the campus as a whole. Rethinking
Better late than never, I am back!!!!
October 26th, day of the George Brown Collage (GBC) open house.
Chef.bam.de
GBC was my first choice for post secondary options for a while, whether it be in the chef training program or apprenticeship or whatever. I knew that was the top school in Ontario and after visiting yesterday I am reassured more than ever of the respect the programs deserve.
However I don't like anything else about the collage. The campus, the residence (or lack there of), The kitchens and labs were good, however I was expecting a little more for what they claimed to be. Also my OYAP means crap too them since I'm not that interested in baking.
Great school, if I was looking for cooking as a second career and wasn't coming straight out of high school then yes, I'd love too go to George Brown but as of right now it is not what I am looking for, but I still I love the idea about learning more about cooking in a big city like Toronto with all the different types of food and culture it has in it. So I am going to start looking more close at Humber collage on the north side of the city.
Their open house is Saturday November 9th so I might be on another trip to the big city in a few weeks. And there is still Fanshawe in London and Conestoga in Kitchener as well I'm considering. However I won't be going to open houses there because I already have a good grasp on there programs by word of mouth and talking to representatives from those collages.
I don't feel like ending this blog quite yet so I'm going to drag it on a bit longer if you don't mind. This past week my brother came home and that was really cool. We played video games almost non stop, between Grand Theft Auto and Minecraft we barley had to eat or sleep. I have linked his blog in the past and I will link it again here. Soon he will be turning some of the blog into another secret project that I may or may not be featuring in, so keep an eye out for that.
This week I attempted to make butter chicken. It turned out ok... but I don't think it is worth writting the recipe out for you because it wasn't as good as the other dishes I have posted. Only grade A meals will be found on this blog haha.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this weeks blog, you know the drill by now, share it, comment, share it again, maybe hit refresh a couple times what ever you feel like doing. Until next time, KidAndTheBlog out.

Back to Basics
Happy Friday everyone!! Welcome back too my little corner of the internet we know and love, Awesomeness Inbound. The last few week I have been blogging about the dishes I made that week and how you can recreate them if you wish or just read for entertainment. A few people have told me they really like the Portobello burger blog and want to try them for themselves, but I haven't herd any feed back on how they turned out. But I'm sure they were just as amazing as when we had them.
This week there's is no cool new recipe as I didn't really have too many creative ideas and I wanted to change it up and come back with another blog about what's going with me and stuff.... I'm not that boring I swear!!!
Well first things first I herd some very sad news end of last week as a girl I used to go to school with suddenly and tragically past away. I won't go into too many details to respect her and her family but even though I haven't seen her in few years it still shocked and saddened me. R.I.P.

On a better note, I started co-op at the restaurant Boston Pizza. Love it there and I'm learning lots. I might get some ideas from there and use them to create a dish of my own and share with you guys and girls. I do like doing the step by step recipe blogs.
Victoriamenus.ca
Hmm. what else, maybe I am boring..... I have started looking at collages closer now and learning more about the courses and maybe doing an apprenticeship. As you may know/have figured out I want to go to school for culinary. I have been attending collage visits when they come to the school and the other day I went to a collage fair where all the collages in Ontario came and pitched why their school was better than all the rest. Got some good info there and I now know my collage priority's... Mostly.
School is going good, getting a 90 in math so that's always a plus and other than that, I think This blog is nearing the end. A bit shorter than most but what can you do. If you enjoyed share it with your friends on Facebook or Twitter or any other social network you wish and I will see you all next Friday, KidAndTheBlog, out.
