Sad talk

Hey guys, sorry for the delay but I am back now, writing this blog, miss me?? I know you did. So as you can tell by the title of this blog it will be a sad one, instead of "Awesomeness Inbound" it's more like "Awesomeness Outbound." If that's even a term used by humans. It's not the kind of thing I want to blog about necessarily but in the case I'm going too anyway.

December 31st, 2009

Me, my cousin with his wife and kid, my aunt, my uncle, and my aunts parents, decided to come back from Kissimmee Florida one day early to be home for New Years and because the weather wasn't going to be nice for the last day anyways. We had spent the Christmas holidays down in Florida and it was super fun, but it was also my first Christmas away from my Mom, Dad and Brother, so I was happy to be coming home to spend New Years with my family. But there was a new member of my family waiting for me when I got home.

No my mother did not get pregnant and spit out another brother or new sister in the 10 days I was gone, but I was still very excited to meet him. His name... Came from the race car driver Dale Earnhardt, only we shortened it too just Dale. I even made a Facebook for him years back but I forgot the password the next day... Dale was an 8 week old Leopard gecko. I had asked for one for Christmas and since I wasn't home for the 25th, I got him on the 31st.

September 9th, 2013 (Yesterday)

The last couple weeks Dale had stopped eating and each day he was getting skinnier and skinnier.... Trying to get him to eat was very hard, The last few days I was even ripping the legs off crickets so they couldn't run away, making them and easier catch for Dale. Yesterday I came home from school and was going to try and get him to eat something before I had to work. I went to go wake him up from his nap to get him to eat something...well.... you can see where this is going.

That night when I came home from work we buried him in the garden, right outside my window. I loved him and so did my family and girl friend. In fact it was almost creepy how much she liked Dale, I thought they were both going to ditch me and run away together and start a life by themselves. No doubt he will be missed by all who knew him.

 R.I.P Dale

It's weird to look at these pictures now, not only because he is gone but because of how much bigger and more built he looks. He got so skinny the last few weeks I knew something was wrong and it wasn't too much of a surprise when he past away. I do still have 2 geckos living with me, but their not mine, I'm more just baby sitting them while their real owners take care of a new born. So if you guys would be interested in a gecko care segment on my blog if you guys have lizards or wish to get one I have picked up a thing or two.

Well that will just about do it for this blog. thank you for reading and I will get back to the normal happier blogs next time and  I should come out with a schedule for Awesomeness inbound, like one every Wednesday or something, I think that sounds good. Let me know what you guys think.Until next time, a slightly depressed KidAndTheBlog, out.
